The saying "lightning doesn't strike the same place twice" is proved wrong after this house was hit twice in only four years

ALBANY, GA --
The common saying is lightning doesn't strike twice but last night, that saying was proven wrong.

The Albany Fire Department responded to 2216 Golf Course Drive just after midnight when lightning struck the house - causing a fire - for the second time in four years.

"Fortunately our crews were able to confine the fire to the attic but searching our records we found that this same house was struck in 2008 by lightning and actually had a fire in the attic at that time," said Albany Fire Department Chief Allen Cravey.

Chief Cravey says there is no rhyme or reason as to why lightning would target the same house.
