ALBANY, GA --
A cancer patient with ties to Phillip Phillips is getting support from the local Cancer Ties organizaton.

Every year Cancer Ties Inc. holds a fundraiser to benefit someone suffering with the disease.

This year they're naming Brittany Stalvey, 27, as the beneficiary.

Stalvey's bracelet for cancer was worn by Phillip Phillips during one of his American Idol performances.

The mother-of-two is currently undergoing chemotherapy.   

She gave a speech Thursday night in front of Cancer Ties members thanking them for support.
