Albany woman stabbed in mouth after man tries to gain entry to her home

Warrants have been issued for aggravated assault, burglary, and false imprisonment for the crime.

ALBANY, GA --
An early morning home entry attempt leaves an Albany woman in the hospital after being stabbed with a screwdriver.
Albany police say that around 4:19 AM Tuesday morning, a man attempted entry to a home in the 1400 block of Gillespie Avenue. The resident grabbed a screwdriver to defend herself. In the struggle, the suspect took the screwdriver from her and stabbed her in the mouth, fleeing the scene shortly thereafter. The resident was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police are looking for 23-year-old Henry Nix III. Warrants have been issued for aggravated assault, burglary, and false imprisonment. If you have seen Nix, you are encouraged to call police immediately.
