A Tift County inmate will go before the Georgia Supreme Court this upcoming Monday to appeal his sentence. 

27-year-old Jonas Brinkley is expected to argue that given the U.S. Supreme Court rulings over the last decade that Georgia shouldn't impose greater-than-life sentences on 14-year-old defendants who haven't committed a homicide.  Brinkley was sentenced to life plus 20 years in prison.

Brinkley was 14-years-old at the time of the incident, 15-years-old when the case went to trial, and has been behind bars ever since.
