Two robberies occur on Christmas Eve: One as Bio-Buzz on N. Slappey and another at an E. Broad grocery store

ALBANY, GA -- Albany police say two jars of money were stolen from the Bio Buzz on North Slappey Boulevard Saturday afternoon. They arrested Mekory Crawford, 27, on Monday in connection with the case.

Police say they picked him up at the Big Lots on Slappey Boulevard and brought him to the station for questions. They say after questioning he was arrested and charged with sudden snatching and robbery.

Also on Christmas Eve at a grocery store on 2301 East Broad Avenue, police say Saul Martinez, 40, told them he was sitting in his car when he was approached by an unknown black male and an unknown black female. They say the male was armed with a knife and demanded money from Martinez; APD says Martinez threw an unknown amount of cash out of the car window and the suspects took off with it.

Police say the suspects were last seen traveling north towards Elson Street. They say the female had a red shirt on and wore braids. Anyone with information on the suspects are asked to call Albany police or Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS.
