ALBANY, GA. -- The Dougherty County School System is working to finalize the 2011-2012 budget.

At this time they’re reporting a balanced budget.

School officials say they have a $12 Million dollar balance left over from the 2010-2011 school year that will roll over into the 2011-2012 school year budget.

The system is expecting $112.5 million dollars in revenue putting the total operating budget at $124.6 Million dollars.  The school system currently has $115.5 Million dollars worth of operating expenses.  The finance committee will meet again to approve the budget on June 29, 2011.

Other solutions the system has implemented to help balance the budget include 10 furlough days and increasing class size maximums by three students.
