After an Albany second grader saw injured animals without homes, she decided to lend a helping
ALBANY, GA -- After second grader Nicole Swartzentruber took her cat to the vet, she saw other injured animals without homes and decided to lend a helping hand. Her mom told her to come up with a business plan and they went with the idea of a bake sale.
Friday morning she sold bread and sweet treats at Life Christian Academy. Swartzentruber raised more than $1,000 for the “Best Friends Humane Society of Worth County.” She says her class is taking a field trip on Friday to give them the donations.
Swartzentruber says she hopes the money will help buy food and medicine for the animals at the humane society
Swartzentruber says she iced the whoopee pies and her mom says she baked close to 60 pies for the cause.
