Mother: Airline rows too narrow for infant carrier

WASHINGTON (AP) — A California mother says she was forced off a United Airlines flight in a dispute over a seat row too narrow to accommodate an infant carrier.
Melissa Bradley said in an interview that she and her party of seven were asked to leave a flight to Honolulu on Wednesday because she took a picture of an economy class seat row that was too narrow to fit her Federal Aviation Administration-approved rear-facing infant carrier.
Bradley said she bought a separate seat for her 11-month-old daughter because she was concerned she might not be able to hold the child in her lap if the plane hit turbulence.
Federal safety officials want to make child seats mandatory on airline flights.
A United spokesman said Bradley was removed because she was disruptive.
