DEKALB COUNTY, GA -- A DeKalb County prosecutor says the woman whose dogs mauled an 8-year-old girl in March has pleaded not guilty to reckless conduct and other charges, reported the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Artrell Vaughn pleaded not guilty to two counts of reckless conduct and two counts of failure to obtain a rabies inoculation in court Tuesday morning, said Nicole Marchand, Chief Assistant Solicitor General.

Vaughn was charged after her two dogs roamed from her home and attacked Erin Ingram, a student at Rock Chapel Elementary, reported the AJC. Police say that Erin, a third-grader at the time of the attack, was playing outside when the dogs charged her.
