Dozens of people march to rally community support against teen violence
ALBANY GA -- United Pure Life Ministries “Youth Against Violence” group held a march to rally community support against teen violence.
Dozens of children, teens, and adults participated in the march from the Albany Civic Center to their church on Moultrie Road.
The goal of the organization is to get children and teenagers involved in healthy activities and off Southwest Georgia streets.
Organizer Sylvia Strong says it will take the entire community's participation to fix the youth violence problem in Southwest Georgia and the church wants to do their part to help out. “We've been in the city of Albany for 9 years. We want the participation from the community and from the parents. The parents involvement is crucial because once a parents gets involved with their kid – then they can turn that kid around and make a difference” says Strong.
Officials say the entire community is invited to participate Youth Against Violence activities.
