Moultrie police say an inmate taken to the hospital has escaped.

Police arrested Joseph Sonny Code Monday for felony shoplifting charges. They say Code and Bridget Henry sole two computers from Wal-Mart in Moultrie. Officers brought Code to the hospital because he was complaining of chest pains. Code checked himself out of the hospital and left in a white vehicle. He was still hooked up to an $1,800 heart monitor.
