The Salvation Army in Albany is collecting supplies to send to Nashville, Tennessee.

Nashville has been dealing with historic levels of flooding for the past few weeks. Now, the Salvation Army is collecting cleaning supplies, toiletries, baby items, and garbage gabs to send to Nashville. The Salvation Army is collecting donations every day this week from 10 to 6 at Cumulus Broadcasting.  Charles Goodroe says the damage in Nashville reminds him of Albany’s floods in 1994 and 1998.

“So we’re just trying to repay it,” said Goodroe, a Salvation Army Board Member.  “Repay the help that we got from all over the country, organizations all over the country. People came from everywhere to help Albany rebuild.”

Goodroe says they also need volunteers. If you’re interested just head down to the donation site on Slappey Boulevard.
