(AP) -- A teenager has been arrested after leading authorities on a high-speed chase through parts of Atlanta and exchanging gunfire with a state trooper.

Officials say the chase began shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday when a Georgia State Patrol trooper spotted a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck that had been reported stolen.  The trooper tried to stop the truck but the driver took off.  After a chase through a number of city streets in Northwest Atlanta, the truck was pinned by officers at an intersection.  Police said the driver exchanged gunfire with the pursuing trooper at one point during the chase.

The 17-year-old driver was taken into custody by Atlanta police.  No injuries were reported.
