Frontier Festival successful at Parks at Chehaw, overall attendance is down as economy slows
The Parks at Chehaw’s operations director says they had a great turnout at the 16th annual Frontier Festival despite the bad economy.
Ben Kirkland says Saturday was the busiest of the three-day event. He says park staff is going to reevaluate their calendar of events to see what can be added to get more people to the park during the recession. Executive Director Doug Porter says they’re going to look at staffing and park spending to see where they can save money to conserve. However, Porter says they will not make any cuts in the park’s zoo.
The Parks at Chehaw is offering “buy one get one free” tickets to it’s Wild Animal Park during the month of January to attract more guests.
