Drunk driver crashes into Terry Lee's Old World Sandwich Shoppe

ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Police Department responded to a driver who crashed into Terry Lee's Old World Sandwich Shoppe at 1116-A West Broad Avenue around noon Wednesday afternoon.

Approximately 12 people were dining inside the restaurant and luckily no one was hurt.

57-year-old Charles Hollis was driving a white 1994 Infinity G-20 when he shattered two large plate glass windows.

Police conducted a field sobriety test, arrested him, and charged Hollis with a DUI.  Corporal Jon Segroves with the Albany Police Department says the man understood what he did when police questioned him.  "He stated that he was pulling into the parking lot and ended up mashing the gas pedal instead of the brake" says Segroves.

The restaurant has been open for 34 years and the owner says he will close the restaurant for the rest of this week until all repairs are complete.
