ALBANY, GA --
According to the Albany Police Department, a shooter has opened fire in the 200 block of Cone Street that has left one man in the hospital.

Authorities say that at some point, 62-year-old Eddie Banks and 36-year-old Anthony Williams got into an argument over a chain that was being used to do engine work on a vehicle that belonged to Williams.

Officers say that Banks asked for the chain but Williams refused to give it to him and the two exchanged words but when the argument escalated, Banks tried to leave.  Williams then continued to confront Banks.  He struck his vehicle repeatedly and shouted threats while Banks sat in his car.  At some point, the car door swung open.

Investigators say that Banks then retrieved a revolver and fired it at least three times at Williams as he ran for cover through a mobile home park.

Williams underwent surgery Monday afternoon and there is no word on his condition at this time.

Detectives have charged Banks with aggravated assault and he has been transported to the Dougherty County Jail.

Officers say they are still at the scene searching for the weapon that was used. If someone comes across the weapon, they are encouraged to the Albany Police Department by dialing 911.
