Here’s some good news for individuals who are choosing to get the flu vaccine this year.

According to public health, this year’s vaccine matches up very well with the main strains of flu in circulation. This means better protection against the potentially deadly virus.

“Flu can even be deadly, so that's what we want to remind people of, this is a serious, potentially serious illness, and we know that flu vaccine is the best way to prevent the flu.” Said  Brenda Greene, the Southwest Georgia Public Health Deputy.

It’s not too late to receive you vaccine, officials say’s it’s important to keep in mind it can take up to 2 weeks for the vaccine to become affective, so the sooner you get it, the better.
