ALBANY, GA -- Crews for the "Water Gas and Light Commission" spent Wednesday erecting a sight only seen once a year, the downtown Christmas tree.

The traditional timber stands tall overlooking the Pine Avenue roadway, and has been coated in tinsle, ornaments, and of course plenty of lights.

Officials with the Commission say putting the tree up is just a way to share the holiday spirit with the entire community.

The tree is also a sign that the holiday parade is this coming Saturday, and officials are hopeful that everyone will brave the cold to make it out.
