ALBANY, GA --
Southern Agricultural Carriers, a shipping company on Sylvester Road, came before the board of Commissioners Monday to request a sewer extension out to their facility.

Officials with the company say their current system cannot handle the sewage that is coming out of the plant, and they are willing to enter into a 50% shared cost agreement with the county.

Should the county agree, Southern Agricultural Carriers would expand their facility to handle 50 new employees. They also stated they pour thousands of dollars in gas money locally.

The board heard the presentation and will rule on it at their nightly meeting.
