ALBANY, GA. --

Albany residents got a chance to sample the tastes of southwest Georgia and it was all for a good cause.

The March of Dimes Signature Chef's Auction was held at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Red Lobster and many other restaurants from southwest Georgia provided food samples while patrons took time to bid on featured items.

All funds raised during the auction will benefit the March of Dimes to help premature babies have a successful start at life.

The benefit was also good for the local economy.

“You come out here and you do all the tasting and then you can go to the restaurants.  You get to bid on some really nice items and that will get you into the local shops. So that's going to help with the economy,” said Julia Forehand, Communications Chair with March of Dimes.
