In our Facebook story of the day, you wanted to know what a tax commissioner does.
Lee County Tax Commissioner Susan Smith says it's not always what people think.
"We don't set the millage rate, we don't asses property" she says. Instead, her office is in charge of collecting the taxes from folks in the county.
The millage rate is set by the board of commissioners and a tax assessor deals with property taxes.
