ALBANY, GA -- According to the Dougherty County Jail, 28-year-old Phillip Marquis Burns has been charged with child molestation and felony sodomy.

Burns was formerly a Dougherty County School System teacher at Lamar Reese Elementary School according to Dougherty County School officials  and 2012 Teacher of the Year Finalist.

FOX 31 has reached out to the arresting agency, the Dougherty County School Police, but are still waiting on a response.
