DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA --
It may have different names depending on who you ask but the meaning is the same: the night before Halloween shows a spike in vandalism and mischief.

To ensure everyone's safety, the Dougherty County Police Department will be patrolling looking for wrongdoing.

Captain Tommy Jackson says the department receives a lot of calls on this particular night of suspicious activity.

The department takes vandalism seriously and Captain Jackson says if the damage is bad enough, vandals can be charged with criminal trespass and more.
