LEESBURG --
It's been a little over two months since the Stardust Car Wash on Route 19 caught on fire and the rebuilding process has finally begun.

Officials said an electrical shortage in the neon lights was to blame for the blaze -- and although time has passed, employees still remember it vividly.

"It was like a dream, I thought I was dreaming. I seen it on the news because I was up at that time in the morning and the news flashed Stardust Carwash is on fire and I thought I was dreaming," said manager, OT Martin.

Owner Craig Dodge says although they immediately knew the damage was bad, they had no idea it would be this extensive.

"They were a little bit worse than we thought, it was an isolated fire and the smoke damage was quite extensive."

For now the car wash is operating by appointment only but hopes to have the business back up and running by January.
