Lee County man convicted of wife’s murder

LEE COUNTY, GA. --

A Lee County man has been found guilty of malice murder in connection to the shooting death of his wife.

Anthony Scott is convicted on four counts which include malice murder, aggravated assault, felony murder, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Cathy Scott's body was found under the carport of her home back in March of 2011.

The woman was suffering from gunshot wounds to the head, stomach and chest.

She later died at a hospital

After an investigation, Anthony Scott admitted to Lee County Sheriff’s investigators that he committed the crime.

Scott’s trial before a grand jury began Monday, October 26, 2012 and wrapped up Friday in a Lee County court.

He’s now in jail awaiting sentencing for the crime.
