ALBANY --
Worth County Deputy Gene Jones lost his house in a massive fire Saturday afternoon according to WorthIt2U.

Jones was reportedly at a neighbor’s house when the fire began shortly after 4 p.m. By the time emergency crews responded, the home was fully engulfed in flames.

Two cars near the house were also badly damaged during the blaze and the patrol car of Deputy Jones sustained heat damage.

Witnesses said the fire reportedly started in the back of the home but the cause is still under investigation.

No one was home or injured during the fire.
