PLAINS,GA --
How do you support your candidate of choice?

In this day of modern technology, you'll see all kinds of polls out there telling you which candidate is ahead. But one man says he can predict the outcome of the presidential race simply by counting buttons.

Philip Kurland and his wife Ramona own the Plains Trading Post in Plains, Georgia--also known as the birthplace and residence of former President Jimmy Carter. Kurland sees patrons from all over the U.S. and even a great many from Europe and other countries. All come to look and buy a political button espousing their support for one candidate or another. Kurland has been able to predict more than one presidential election simply based on how many buttons he sells for each candidate.

"95 percent of our business in the store comes from out of the state or out of the country. When you ask people where they're from you'll hear the most is Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota. You see more people from Germany than any other foreign country, United Kingdom, Canada, a noticeable increase from China," says Kurland.

And he says he's seeing something very different this election year.

"This is the first presidential election we've had where they are absolutely, positively sure who they're going to vote for."

Kurland says button sales are extremely close with a slight favor to President Barack Obama. And if you plan on getting "pinned", you better hurry--there are only seven weeks left before the election November 6th.
