ALBANY, GA --

The Dougherty County School System (DCSS) is on the verge of losing control of their title 1, part A expenditures.

A letter sent to DCSS Superintendent Dr. Joshua Murfree from Title Programs Director, Margo DeLaune, stated the school system lacks internal control of the Title 1 funds, and has systematic problems with program noncompliance.

The school system must now hire an Georgia department of education approved individual who, amongst other things, must review and approve all Title 1 part A expenditures.
