ALBANY, GA. --

The Dougherty County School System will be making some changes at the request of the Georgia Department of Education.

According to the Albany Herald, a FOX 31 media partner, Dougherty County School Superintendent Dr. Joshua Murfree has a letter focused on corrective measures that need to take place to get the school system on track.

The Georgia Board of Education is requesting that more than $100,000 dollars be collected for misuse of Title I funds.

Officials also want the system to come up with a plan to ensure appropriate use of future Title one funds.

The letter requires school officials come up with a plan for students impacted by CRCT tampering and officials are also being required to hire someone to monitor the school system's free and reduced lunch application process.

The entire letter can be read here.
