ALBANY --
Emergency Management has joined forces with the National Weather Service to closely monitor Tropical Storm Isaac.

On Saturday, officials predicted Albany was in a direct strike zone for the storm but by Sunday things looked a bit better for Southwest Georgia.

"Today's models are more in agreement with the National Weather Service and they're looking more of a western Alabama eastern Mississippi landfall strike at this time," said Emergency Management Deputy Director Jim Vaught.

Vaught says this does not mean we're in the clear - Albany is still expected to get 7 to 9 inches of rain and experience winds up to 35 miles per hour.

To ensure your property is safe, bring all loose items like lawn chairs inside and trim any dangling limbs on trees.
