ALBANY, GA. --

Early voting for the Republican runoff election for Georgia’s 2nd Congressional District came to a close Friday.

Rick Allen and John House are facing off for voters to decide who will run against Democrat incumbent Sanford Bishop in November.

Dougherty County election officials say as of Friday, only 29 people had voted.

They're hoping more people turnout for the election on Tuesday.

“Only those individuals who voted Republican in the July 31st election are eligible to vote, those individuals who voted partisan are also eligible to vote as well and those who of course didn't cast a ballot at all are eligible to vote in this election,” says Ginger Nickerson, Dougherty County Elections Supervisor.

There will be no voting on Monday.

All 28 precincts in Dougherty County will be open on Tuesday.
