ALBANY, GA --

Representatives from Recreation and Parks departments across Georgia met in Albany Wednesday, to discuss Therapeutic Recreation.

The division of the recreation department is responsible for making adaptations to programs so people with special needs can participate.

The meeting was to share different techniques, in hopes of bettering programs, for the participants.

Robyn Fink is the therapeutic recreation coordinator, in Albany. She says It's important to make these adaptations, "so that everyone has the same opportunities, whether its baseball, basketball or just being a part of a group. Getting out and being active and having fun with other people."

Albany offers adapted program ranging from baseball and basketball to bowling. You can call the Recreation department at (229) 430 5222 for more information.
