ALBANY, GA -- Sylvester Police arrested 48-year-old John Thomas DeGuire after a lengthy online sting operation.
Authorities had been posing as a 14-year-old female on an internet chatroom and arranged for DeGuire to meet them at Jeffords Park in Sylvester. Police arrested DeGuire at the park early Tuesday morning and have charged him with child exploitation, child molestation, and enticing a child for indecent purposes.
The Department had been working with local units and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for over a week on this case.
Authorities emphasized that predators can be found anywhere, and to be conscious of who your child is talking to online.
