Dougherty County Commissioners discuss the pay raise amongst other topics at the Monday morning commission meeting.
 /
Ashley Knight
ALBANY, GA -- At the Monday morning
Dougherty County Commissioner
meeting, pay raises were a hot topic when the salary increase for Economic Development Commission members was brought up.
Commissioner Gloria Gaines says she is "upset that the EDC is giving its employees a 2% raise. Since they use public funds, their budget should have a certain amount of public input."
Commissioner Lamar Hudgins, who is on the Economic Development Commission, said he abstained from voting on the EDC budget because he felt it was a conflict of interest.
