The will not accept personal checks beginning Wednesday

ALBANY,GA --
Starting Wednesday August 1st, the city of Albany will no longer accept personal checks as a form of payment for Municipal Court.
They did this because the city found that they kept getting returned checks for Municipal Court citations, bonds and fines.
“And it honestly costs the city more because that citation is not being paid for that's costing revenue in addition to that, there are fees that are tacked on that the city has to foot the bill for,” says Accounting Manager Ava O’Neal.
The city will still accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, money orders and cashier's checks as forms of payment.
They will also accept payments online at Albany.Ga.US.
