Phillip Phillips goes gold with "Home"

ALBANY, GA -- Phillip Phillips' first single "Home" has been declared gold in a story first reported by the Hollywood Reporter.

Pulse Recordings announced over Facebook and Twitter that Phillip's "Home" has gone gold by selling over 500,000 copies.

The Hollywood Reporter also says that "Home" set an American Idol record by selling more than 278,000 in it's first week of release. This beat the previous record held by David Cook's single "The Time of My Life" by 42,000 copies.
