ALBANY, GA -- The Dougherty County Kiwanis Club met Monday to honor several students from the community.

Three students were given scholarship money ranging from $1,000 dollars, to $2,000 dollars Monday in the Kiwanis Club's annual scholarship awards.

"It's an opportunity for these recipients of the scholarship, to sort of show the public the hard work they've been doing all their lives and all through school," said Kiwanis Foundation Chairman, Scott Brown.

Spotlighted during the awards was the first home schooled recipient, along with each student signing a children's book that will be donated to the local library.
