ALBANY, GA. --

For those who want to get out and see the city on the 4th of July, Albany officials say multiple activities are planned for any who wants to participate.

If you're looking for an option to stay cool, Thronateeska Heritage Center and the Riverquarium are offering an $8.00 joint pass for the day and admission to the Imagination Theatre is only $3.00 extra.

In the afternoon, around 5:00 p.m. vendors will be setting up near the Veterans Park Amphitheatre for the city's 4th of July celebration.

The opening ceremony will begin at 8:45 and it'll end with a bang!

“About 9:30 p.m. we'll kick off the biggest and best fireworks show in southwest Georgia. We have music by Danny Reeves from Dangerous Entertainment. So it's fireworks with music accompanying it. It really adds to it and it's so much fun,” says Kristin Caso, Albany Recreation and Parks Special Events Coordinator.

The fireworks show will last about 35 minutes. People are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show.
