ALBANY, GA. --
As the weather heats up this summer, many families seek water to keep cool, but kids who can't swim may feel left out of the fun.

The Albany Boys and Girls Club opened up its pool to kids who want to learn to swim.

Kids can learn to swim at a reduced rate of five dollars $5.00.

That rate includes ten swimming lessons.

Each lesson includes the basics of swimming and water safety.

“We teach them to submerge there head underwater, which is bobbing down first. We teach them to get in the board in a streamline position and these are just basic things to get them acclimated to the water,” says Bobby Savage, Albany Boys and Girls Club Aquatic Director.

Albany Recreation and Parks also offers swimming lessons at the Carver Pool and Spray Park on McKinley Street.

Swimming classes are offered in the mornings. Classes not free but they're affordable.

Kids ages 3 to 12 can swim for 25 cents and it costs 50 cents for anyone over 12.

Lifeguards are on site at both the Boys and Girls Club pool and the Carver Pool and Spray Park.
