ALBANY,GA --
We're approaching the beginning of summer, and for many teens out there, that can mean getting their first job.
However, employment numbers for teens are not looking so good across the nation and here at home.
According to the Employment Policies Institute, teen unemployment is above 25% in 18 states and Washington D.C.
The teen unemployment rate in Georgia is 28.5%.
Officials are also urging lawmakers to think twice before passing legislation that would raise the minimum wage rate, since it makes it more difficult for teens to obtain jobs who have less education.
