SEATTLE, WA -- According to the Seattle Times, former Albany resident Kimberly Layfield died in after a man opened fire in a Seattle coffee shop. 

Layfield attended the now closed Riverview Academy in the early 1990's.

The Associated Press reports that a man walked into an arts cafe near a Seattle university and opened fire, fatally wounding four people. Police say he later killed a woman during a carjacking before fatally shooting himself.
