ALBANY, GA --
The Albany Police Department has announced the payment for a tip that helped break a home invasion case from early May.

Police say that they, along with Albany-area Crime Stoppers and SB&T Bank, have awarded a citizen $2500 for information that assisted in the arrest of 42-year-old
Luscious Gene Sutton Jr. Sutton is accused of bursting into 79-year-old Carol Dozier's home, injuring her, and stealing her car.

Albany Police Chief John Proctor said "our hope is that rewards like this will encourage more citizens to report suspicious activity in their neighborhoods." He added that citizens should keep the slogan “If you see something, say something” in mind.

Detectives say the tipster confirmed information that Sutton was driving the victim’s car.
