ALBANY, GA. --
Summer break has started for students in Dougherty County and to provide a cool and safe activity Albany's Department of Recreation and Parks is opening up its community pool.

The Carver Pool and Spray Park on McKinley Street is now open.

Lifeguards will be on-site throughout the day and starting on June 11th there will be swimming classes offered in the mornings.

Families are invited to come out and swim.

It’s not free but officials say it's affordable.

“It's 25 cents for kids from 3 to age 12 and it's 50 cents for kids aged 13 and above. We also do water aerobics on Thursday nights and that's 50 cents for adults,” says Robyn Fink, Recreation and Parks Pool Supervisor.

Kids are allowed to swim for 2 hours and 15 minutes.
