ALBANY, GA. --
When many people visit southwest Georgia, one of the compliments they leave relates to the hospitality of the people.

Now Albany officials are working to bring more people to the area.

Albany’s Hospitality Committee met up Thursday afternoon at the Albany Welcome Center.

During the session, the group talked about making a bid on the USA BMX competition that could be held here in September.

The tournament was held in Marietta, Florida previously.

Hotel managers from across the city talked about working out a deal with BMX organizers to get rooms filled for their stay.

Officials say once the competition comes to the area, they have no doubt that they'll be back.

They won't know until July whether the competition will be held here or not.
