Albany Junior League celebrates 80 years of service

ALBANY, GA --
The Junior League celebrated its 80th year of service during a luncheon Thursday afternoon.

The group met at the Merry Acres Event Center to honor various volunteer-based organizations such as the Lily Pad, Children's Miracle Network and more.

The Junior League presented each group announced with a check ranging from $4,000 to $8,000 to further their already successful services.

Albany's Junior League is an all-female organization created in 1964 that aims to promote volunteerism, develop the potential of  women and improve communities through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
