ALBANY, GA --
From a press release issued by the Lee County Chamber of Commerce:

Lee County Chamber of Commerce is planning a homecoming celebration Saturday, May 12, 2012 for American Idol top four finalist Phillip Phillips.

A native of Lee County, Phillip Phillips returns home for a parade and short concert with times and locations still to be determined.

“We are so excited for Phillip and his family, and we are honored to plan an event to celebrate the outstanding achievements of one of our own.  We are extremely proud of Phillip and our community for all of their support,” said Lee County Chamber of Commerce President Winston Oxford.

Everyone is encouraged to come show local support for American Idol top four finalist Phillip Phillips and help celebrate the excitement surrounding Season 11 of American Idol.  The event is free and open to the public.

Saturday the idol star will start his day at 10:00 a.m. with a radio appearance at Cumulus on Broad Avenue.

From there he'll travel to east Albany for a stop at his father's pawn shop.

Lee County is planning a parade for Phillips at 2:30 p.m. near the courthouse in Leesburg and following that there'll be a concert at Lee County High School.

Law enforcement officials are working to make sure the area is secured for the event.

“We're going to have security for the detail for the parade and also at the concert. That's what we're looking at right now. We at the Leesburg Police Department and Lee County Sheriff's Department are working together,” says Leesburg Police Lt. James Vick.
