ALBANY, GA. --
The southwest Georgia branch of the United Way is doing its part to spread health awareness.

The United Way partnered with the Albany Housing Authority and the AmeriCorps Saturday morning to hold a health fair in the McIntosh housing community.

Residents were offered screenings for vision, blood pressure, and weight.

Doctors with the Samaritan Clinic were on site to evaluate patients and make sure they stay on track.

“They will be tracked and followed up at Samaritan clinics to ensure that they have the medication that they need and they're able to have the lab testing that they need to be able to maintain good health,” says Nedra Fortson, Director for the Samaritan Clinic.

The health screenings were free to the public.
