ALBANY, GA --
In our Facebook story of the day you wanted to know if the City of Albany is planning more events like Mardi Gras.

Albany Downtown manager Aaron Blair has several plans in the works with events similar to the Mardi Gas celebration.

One of those events is the Flint Fest which happened last year for the first time.

Last year, it attracted 5,000 people and generated thousands of dollars locally and its schedule to return this year on October 6.

Blair says “sometimes that’s the only time that people regionally may come downtown to see us or even locally. So, we want to make sure that we're doing those things on a consistent basis.”

The Downtown Manager office is also working with the Downtown Arts Collision on putting together an Arts festival at 128 Pine Street.
