ALBANY, GA. --
After 41 years with Palmyra Hospital, a food service employee is setting aside her apron.

Virginia Brown has been with the hospital since the 1970’s. Palmyra is now known as Phoebe North.

Brown is one of two remaining employees who have been with the company since its beginning.

Thursday hospital staff, family and friends sent Brown off into retirement with a dinner party.

The retiree says she has big plans for the future.

“I’m going home to get some rest because I’m tired and have fun with my two little granddaughters,” says retiree Virginia Brown.

Brown says although she’s looking forward to retirement, she’s going to miss her coworkers.
