COOK COUNTY, GA --
The Georgia Department of Transportation is warning drivers in south Georgia that visibility may be limited in some areas because of smoke and fog from a north Florida wildfire.

Heavy smoke from the fire and shifting winds has the potential to cause periodic reduced visibility on highways throughout the area.

Counties that may be affected are Lowndes, Cook and Brooks.

GDOT says drivers should be prepared for possible long delays, unscheduled road closures and detours.

With this potential fog, low to no visibility is expected making travel in certain areas dangerous and GDOT encourages motorists to slow down and avoid roads with smoke and fog.
